Nadastrom DC Debut @ Blisspop, 7.3.2008

Nadastrom-Blisspop
Dave Nada and Matt Nordstrom, also known as Nadastrom, have been causing quite a ruckus with their new tracks that are about to be released on Dave “Switch” Taylor’s imprint, Dubsided. Having been trainspotted by the likes of Diplo, A-Trak, and Drop the Lime, you know then that Nadastrom’s tracks will do nothing but slay on the dance floor. They made their debut in Philadelphia earlier this month at the Mad Decent Block Party. Now the two will make a proper hometown debut this Thursday, July 3, for Blisspop at the 9:30 Club. The performance will be hosted by Blaqstarr and will feature Will Eastman, Spiggy and Gavin Holland.

Nadastrom’s remix of Lil’ Wayne’s “A Milli” is much closer in aesthetic to the rest of the upcoming Pussy Soul EP than their recent “American Boy” remix. Well, what exactly is their aesthetic, you may ask. It’s dark, it’s nasty and makes you feel violated, but in a good way. Nada and Nordstrom arrive at their signature sound by combining the elements they hold so dear within themselves as producers and djs. Nada’s Tangueray-soaked b-more funk and audacity meld perfectly with Nordstrom’s tension-building electro-house precision. The godfather of B-more house, Scottie B, has even said that Nadastrom is “the future” of music. Expect to see their upcoming tracks get a lot of shine in the blogosphere and world-wide.
